Missionary Week #25

Missionary Week #25   March 4, 2019 – March 10, 2019

Hello everyone!  Another week that went by so fast!  The weather here is crazy!  But I guess you all are having crazy weather in the States.  I loved the Facebook post that said “Welcome to AZ! Winter is at 6am, Spring starts at 10am. Summer is at 2pm and Fall is around 4:30ish.  Dress accordingly!”

Monday – We were at work by 7. We had a normal day of work – capturing images of the Military cards and the days seems to go fast.  Sunday, it snowed all day.  Today it was rain! We were able to Marco Polo to Jon & Jaylen.  Jon was getting his 5th wheel ready for a trip this weekend and Jaylen was sending us pictures of an Osprey flying over our house as he was washing his car!  Our daughters sent Marco Polos about our dear friend Terry Haws passing away today.  All our kids had a “Haws” friend in school.  All of them! That encompasses a 15-year spread! Great family and our prayers go out for them.  For Family Home Evening we watched a RootsTech video about Saroo Brierley.  He was a 5yr old boy born in India and he and his brother went to the train station and got separated and he couldn’t find his way back home, he ended up being adopted by a couple from Australia and he still wanted to find out where his family was.  It was about that journey of finding his family again.  Almost hard to believe but it happened!  There was a movie called Lion that was made about his life.  I don’t remember seeing it but would like to.  You can go watch this video if you’d like

Tuesday – Went to work a little later this morning and for lunch we walked to a pizza place real close to the archive “Nina’s”  It was tasty, Kebab salad.  And we were back to work within our 30 minutes that we like to take.

Wednesday –  We had a normal day at work – and at home we got a sweet Marco Polo from Jon and his two youngest children.  Saying hello to Grampa and Grampa!  Yep that’s how they said it. Jon would correct them and say Gramma and Grampa and they then would say Hello Gramma and Gramma!  We laughed so hard.

Thursday – Normal day at work, John fixes our lunch everyday, today was a new mix.  Nutela, peanut butter with raisins and dried cranberries!  I loved it – you’ll need to try it!

Friday – On our way to work, we ride the train and have to use an elevator to take us up to the street level to walk to work.  Today it took us up and the door opened up about 5”.  After pushing a few more buttons it finally worked and we were able to jump out fast!  We worked until 3pm and left to go pick up our I.D. Cards – This was our last step in being able to stay here for over a one year period.  I have to say when they (the tax office) give you an appointment time – they are right on.  It’s sad that in the states – a 10:30 appointment really means you’ll be seen when we call you back!   We were able to talk to Janell, she was off work today and more Marco Polos’ from Jon.  We are pretty excited for JT who is headed to the Terminator Tournament in Prescott Valley.  He had to weigh in tonight and all the matches start on Saturday.  It snowed today.

Watching JT's scores from Terminator
Saturday – Relaxing Saturday – tonight we went out to eat – down the street - at Texas Longhorn.  They look a lot like Texas Roadhouse – good food and we walked home in the Rain! We got a Duo video call from Jaylen and Blaire -and family- they are living in our house and they get all our mail – so we have to go through it all and they are good to take care of everything at our house, inside and out!  We were able to watch JT on trackwrestling.com for several of his matches – it was very exciting – He was in the 115 lb. weight class and Under 15yrs old.  He did wonderful – and we watched until it was over here at 1:10am Sunday morning!  (5pm in AZ) He came in 6th place.  We are waiting to hear his thoughts on the day but wow what a great day! We were sad that the camera was not working on the last two matches of the day, but we were able to watch as the scores came up on screen.

Sunday – We went on the train to church today because the Senior couple that we share the car with had their son and daughter visiting this week – and there’s only room for 4 in the car!  It was good weather it said 50* however it didn’t feel like 50* in AZ.  But the Sun was shining!
We hope that your week has been a great one, that you are healthy, and are enjoying your family wherever you are!  We love you and think of you often.  We want to wish Keith, my other nephew – a Happy Birthday that was on March 6th!
