Missionary Week 74 February 10, 2020 ~ February 16, 2020
We have had another great week
here in Sweden. “Work” is great, we had a wonderful Zone Conference and we are
trying not to get “Trunky” = Looking forward to going home too much! (We have
30 days left!)
Monday – Not raining this morning! It was 4*C or 39.2*F. We are finishing 1-2 boxes a day. We heard from Blaire today, that our box we
sent home made it! Yay! We are sending a few things by mail, so we
don’t have to get another suitcase! This
was good news, since we mailed the box on January 23 and it made it by February
10th. Not all of our mail has
made it to the States, and not everything that has been sent has made it here.
Tuesday
– Off to work, no rain, good day at work. I finished
a box before lunch and another one before we left at 4pm. We got a call from Jaylen as we were getting
off one of our trains – and lost him.
Got another call as we were walking home, he showed us the inside of his
house – things are coming along very nicely.
We packed up another box and sent
it home today – the wait begins.

Wednesday – It was 1*C = 34*F when we left. I finished another box before lunch. We transfer our files to the shuttles at lunch
time, so we aren’t wasting time. We ate
with the Salls and the Quists. As we
went home it was misting and we could tell that it had rained. We went to the store. We got a cute Family Picture from Jenn and
family – the kids wanted to send us one!
So glad they did!

| Elder & Sister Sabin - meeting and greeting every single Missionary |
The area authority from Germany
was on a Mission Tour – so they are a little different than the usual
Conference. Elder Sabin and his wife met
with each missionary – he had some very good messages. We were called up to be in a “role-play” and
Elder Richardson was fantastic!

| Elder Thompson |
The best news was that we got to
see 2 of our favorite Elders. Elder
Clarke who was in our Jakobsberg Ward when we first got there and Elder Thompson,
that is from our Niece Dawnette’s ward.
He said he is going to be coming into Phoenix the same day that Jacob (Dawnette’s
son) is coming home! That is just about
a week before we get home. So, we took
pictures with both of these fantastic Missionaries – because we will not see
them again here in Sweden.
This will be
our last Zone Conference – the next one is scheduled later in March.
We had so much fun with all of the Senior
Couples – we all helped in the set up and serving of the lunch and the cleaning
up. (Before, one couple was assigned to
help the office couple) It worked fantastically. Elder Richardson went with Elder Torrie to
get the lunch from the Coop (the grocery store that caters the food) and it was
BBQ Chicken, again – (because that is the Mission Presidents favorite!) and
there was BBQ Sauce spillage again!
Elder Richardson did not get the brunt of it this time – but he will be
taking his suit in to the dry cleaners again!
Elder Torrie got most of the sauce.
They talked with the guy from the store and the Sauce is going to be
given to us in a separate container next time, so that we can add when we are in the
kitchen! But FUN MEMORIES and lessons
learned!
We got to talk to Jennifer and Jody
today.
Friday – Happy Valentines Day! It was -5*C this morning or 23*F. It was cold!
John walked to the Dry Cleaners today and on his way back he saw a
police car and was able to talk to them and ask if they wanted to trade a patch
from St. Johns, Arizona and the officer said “Sure” and ripped it off of his
shirt! We left at 2pm to get home to do
laundry.
We were able to talk to Jon today
on Marco Polo – so it was a back and forth kind of chat but a great one. They are trying to get ready for us to come
home!
Saturday
– We had breakfast, while John was working on the
Sunday School lesson – I made banana bread and did a little genealogy. Then we took the train and then a tram to
Skansen to go to the Gift Shop! Well,
the Gift shop was closed for the slow period (WINTER)– and will open up in May! There was a Museum Gift Shop and we were able
to get some of things we were looking for but now the hunt is on for the things
that we didn’t find.
We came back to Alvik and walked
to our favorite Italian restaurant – it was 4 o’clock and it was packed!!! It was still good food and we were glad we
had a good walk home.
Sunday – We went to church and a great Sunday School Class
discussion. We are looking forward to
another great week!
We hope you will have a wonderful
week and that you are happy, healthy and energized for another week too!
We think of you often and miss
you! Love hearing from you! Love, John & Linda, Mom & Dad, Gramma
& Grampa
